When Shelby’s husband surprised her with a sunrise portrait session, it was the perfect opportunity for some much-needed self-love. Shelby was thrilled and couldn’t wait to shoot. We photographed her in a beautiful grassy field in Clarksville, TN, that proved to be the perfect backdrop for Shelby’s portraits.
Our day started early with an early wake-up call and a 5AM rendezvous at our location. Shelby showed up with a variety of outfits, but she was most excited about a white, floral, appliqué dress she found at a local boutique, Apricot Lane. From the moment she saw the dress, she envisioned herself running toward the sunrise. We made that vision come to life, and the photos of her in that dress, bathed in the early morning light, turned out to be some of her favorites. Despite the early rise, the final images were well worth it.
Adding to the magic of the morning was the gorgeous, moody fog that blanketed the field during the blue hour just before sunrise. This fog gave the images an ethereal, dreamy vibe, making the session feel even more special.
